VDA: Vares Defense Association

About Us:

The VDA (Vares Defense Association) works to promote the safety of all levels of reality from the threat of the Altered. Our three primary branches-Mobile Detainment Cells, Containment, and Pataphysical Research- work together to catch and contain the Altered. The VDA is the only organization of its kind, we are the only defense from total destruction.
Our realities work like a receipt spike. The receipt spike holds together many pieces of paper, each practically two-dimensional, and makes them work together to form a three-dimensional system. The central spike makes each object a part of a greater object. Likewise, the Vares is a series of planes, each their own place, held together by The Spike to form the Macroverse. Every plane has some sort of Aspect that contributes to the greater reality beyond ourself. Each of these planes are distinct and valuable, and deserve to be safe.
The Altered are a select group of people capable of moving peoples souls through the Vares's various Aspects, completely changing their victims spiritual and physical makeup or response to laws of physics. Thousands of years ago, the Altered formed an inter-planar empire and subjugated "average" entities to their tyranny. Shortly after the destruction of an unknown plane, the leader of the Altered died. The empire quikly dissolved, and the VDA rose from the ashes. Now, every one of our members works to preserve the freedom of everyone, regardless of how real they are.

Our Branches:

The VDA employ's a 'nesting' service, where each branch has sub-branches, and those branches have branches below them. Below are each of our branches:

• Mobile Detainment: Goes out to capture Altered
• Mobile Cells: Groups who go out through the Vares to retrieve Altered
• Monitoring: Monitors Altered from the VDA, and directs the Mobile Cells
• Internal Containment: Works to keep up the complex and keep Altered immobile
• Activity Manager: Designs projects and activities to put the Altered to work
• Sentry: Stays in the main complex and makes sure no Altered leave
• Pataphysical Research: Researches the nature of reality and creats new technology or techniques to capture Altered
• Practical Research: Tests on physical things, including weapons and their effects on organic matter
• Theoritical Research: Completes more abstract speculation on the nature of the planes
• Entity Resources: Maintains a safe and efficient work place
• Anti-Discrimination: Makes sure every employee does not face discrimination based on their gender, species, or how real they are
• Tech Support: Makes sure the computer terminals around the VDA and this website are functional
• Hiring: ER speeds along every aspect of the proscess of hiring

The Board:

The VDA is lead by he four heads of our branches working in tandem to ensure the efficient and complete work of the entire VDA.
